After RCB wins WPL 2024, Virat Kohli video calls Smriti Mandhana to celebrate.
In WPL 2024, Virat Kohli video called Smriti Mandhana after Royal Challengers Bangalore won against Delhi Capitals to become champions in the second season of the Women’s Premier League.
After RCB’s victory in the WPL 2024 final against Delhi Capitals, skipper Smriti Mandhana revealed that she couldn’t hear what Virat Kohli was saying during their video call celebration. Although Kohli congratulated Mandhana right after RCB broke their title drought, the noise at the Arun Jaitley stadium made it difficult to understand his message clearly.
Mandhana mentioned that she would have the chance to meet Kohli in Bengaluru, potentially at the RCB Unbox event on March 19. She recalled Kohli’s appearance last year, where his pep talk had a positive impact on her and the team. Despite seeing his joyful expression during the call, Mandhana couldn’t make out his words due to the loud environment.
Unlike the rest of the RCB team who celebrated enthusiastically, Mandhana chose to spend some quiet time in the dressing room after the match. She humorously remarked that celebrating like others might not be her strong suit and joked about having a “defect.”
“In the press conference later, Mandhana shared, ‘The first thing I did was I went to the dressing room and sat. Celebrating like everyone else is tough for me. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.
Overall, Mandhana’s focus on meeting Kohli and her unique approach to celebrating the victory added an interesting twist to RCB’s historic win in the WPL 2024 final.
